EMR Speed, Efficiency and Provider Productivity

Written by:

SRSsoft EMR emphasizes speed, efficiency and provider productivity. If your EMR slows you down and makes you less productive, you will lose money and there will be no ROI. More importantly your income will diminish because you will be seeing fewer patients per hour! The $44,000 to $64,000 offered in government incentives (over 5 years) will be insignificant compared to the income you lose due to decreased productivity.

What are your thoughts about provider productivity? For complete post from SRSsoft’s CEO go to: http://blog.srssoft.com/?p=496

Does anyone have experience with the EMR/PM system ‘Healthfusion’? The American Osteopathic Association has formed a “Strategic Partnership” with this vendor. It is the only EMR with an Osteopathic coding and billing component. It is a web based system using the ipad at the patient-physician interface. The company has over eight years experience with PM software. Only recently has it joined the mix, and it is certified. As an Osteopathic physician, these attributes are big motivators to join this system. Thoughts and experiences appreciated.

      Ron,
I haven’t ever had experience with Healthfusion. Although, I would be surprised if it was the only EMR with an Osteopathic coding and billing component. I’ll admit my lack of knowledge about Osteopathic coding and billing, but I’m guessing there are many others that can do it.

If you’re interesting in EMR stimulus money, then the certification is good. Otherwise, it’s useless. I do see that Healthfusion is listed on the official EHR certification list: http://onc-chpl.force.com/ehrcert and it is a Complete EHR certification and not just a modular one. Another good thing if you want stimulus money.

In your evaluation of EMR software, you might take a look through this free EMR selection e-Book: http://www.emrandhipaa.com/emr-selection-book/ It’s part education and part process that will help you better evaluate Healthfusion against other EMR vendors out there. There are after all 300+ EMR vendors out there.
